Default P/Rt GftE-less spearchucking

Paragon/Ritualist
Level: 20

Leadership: 12 (10+2)
Spear Mastery: 13 (12+1)
Channeling Magic: 8

- "There's Nothing to Fear!" (Sunspear skill)
- Aggressive Refrain (Leadership) <-- IAS
- Wild Throw (Spear Mastery) <-- stance breaker
- Spear of Lightning (Spear Mastery)
- Vicious Attack (Spear Mastery) <-- deep wound
- Weapon of Fury [Elite] (Channeling Magic) <-- under aggressive refrain, massive energy gains to fuel TNtF
- Leader's Comfort (Leadership) <-- heal
- Signet of Return (Leadership) <-- res

Sideboard:
-Merciless Spear (Spear Mastery) instead of Vicious Attack, for a more reliable deep wound

Quite odd, if I do say so myself.

I'm all for creative builds but why use your elite slot for something that GftE would do anyway with an additional % critical for all of your attackers? Not to mention you're sacrificing 8 armour from not meeting any shield requirements. On top of that, Vicious Attack becomes less effective without a GftE to greatly increase the chance of deep wound.

If you're trying to break the GftE norm, going to need a pretty solid reason to do so.

I was trying hard to drop GfTE because it is so common, and having no other physicals makes it pretty dull.
Soldier's Fury is probably better than Weapon of Fury except energy wise.

"There's Nothing to Fear" and Aggressive Refrain are both costly energy skills. How do you suppose someone will use those in correlation without some sort of radiant insignia on a major piece of armor? (legs or chest) BTW, what [I]are[I] you recommending for insignias to use with this build?

you need a chant to keep up aggressive refrain, like anthem of flame.

Aggressive Refrain only becomes a costly energy skill if you don't know how to maintain it until the zone is clear/mission over/you die. Only in the if you die instance does the energy every become an issue, and even then all it requires you to do is swap to a high energy set to re-cast. Given that paragons only have a base of 30 energy, and Aggressive Refrain is 25, my assumption would be that every paragon worth taking into a group is going to bring something to raise their energy in case they die a few times.

There is no reason to use radiant insignias, when it is much easier to just weapon swap for a lot more energy than the radiants could provide.

12 leadership is enough to maintain TNTF constantly, even between fights as your only chant/shout provided the group is balled up enough.

All you need to maintain AR and TNTF constantly before any fight is starting at 34 Energy (energy runes and insignias good enough here) and having 12 leadership with 6 party memebers around - this way you can fire up AR and keep it up with TNtF used each 15 seconds... This way you will actually even slowly gain energy over time. That's all you need to start it all, no need for AoF at all...

Once you get in a fight, your energy problems will be instantly over...

I personally hate AoF. But I completely forgot about the fact that TNTF could be used to keep up AR. It seems like a good build now that I got that out of the way.
